A man who reported a bomb near the Capitol surrendered to the police

NBC reported a man who parked near the Library of Congress in Washington and announced a bomb surrendered to police.

It is noted that the man himself got out of the car, he was detained. The police do not yet know whether there were explosives in the car.

According to a representative of the Capitol police, on Thursday morning, a man came to Congress in a black pickup truck, announced that he had a bomb in his car, and the officer noticed something similar to a detonator in the driver’s hands.

Nearby buildings were evacuated, the area was cordoned off. Negotiations began with the man.

It was clarified that his identity was established, but it was impossible to find out the motives.
