A man was killed in a shooting at a Mississippi club

One person was killed, and three were injured in a shooting at a nightclub in the American city of Jackson (Mississippi), according to local police.

The Hinds County police officials said in a statement that the shooting occurred Saturday night local time after a conflict at the M-Bar Club. It is noted that at least the suspect and another person argued. The suspect, a black man, pulled out a gun and shot several people after the altercation. He then fled the scene.

“One of the victims … 41-year-old Cortez Shelby received a gunshot wound to the neck. His death was pronounced at the scene. Three other victims, a woman, and two men, also received gunshot wounds, and they were taken to a medical center for assistance,” the office said in a release posted by Lee Vance County Sheriff’s office on Facebook.

It is noted that the lives of the victims are not in danger; their injuries are not severe. Investigators have not yet been able to determine whether any of the victims were involved in the conflict.
