A magnitude 5.6 earthquake has struck off the coast of Japan

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 occurred on Monday off the coast of Japan, according to the European-Mediterranean seismological center (EMSC).

The earthquake was recorded at 18.19 UTC. The epicenter of the quake was located 429 kilometers south of the city of Nagoya, the capital of the Japanese Prefecture of Aichi. The hearth lay at a depth of 388 kilometers.

There were no reports of casualties or damage. The threat of a tsunami has not been announced.
