A court has ordered the release of hundreds of immigrants from detention centers in Florida

The court found the conditions of their detention inhumane.

A court in Miami has ordered the release of hundreds of detained immigrants from three centers in South Florida due to conditions that could be considered “cruel and disproportionate punishment.”

In a 12-page ruling, district judge Marcia J. Cook claims that the immigration and customs enforcement service acted with “deliberate indifference” to the conditions of detention of prisoners.
The judge ordered the Agency to report within three days on plans to reduce the contingent by several hundred people.
