American hospitals report a shortage of medical equipment and specialists.

The number of cases of coronavirus infection in the United States exceeded 100 thousand, more than 1.5 thousand Americans died. Doctors who are fighting the epidemic are calling for them to be provided with adequate means of protection and medical equipment – first, artificial ventilation devices.

Dr. Arabi Molette, from Brookdale University hospital in New York, says: “We are scared. We are fighting for the lives of others, but we must also fight for ourselves because we are at the greatest risk of infection.”

New York doctors say they are forced to re-use disposable protective equipment, as well as buy gloves, masks, glasses, and gowns on the black market.

Hospitals in New York, New Orleans, Detroit, and other cities warn that they are facing a shortage of medicines and trained specialists.
