5.1 magnitude earthquake occurred East of Tokyo

An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred in the Japanese Prefecture of Chiba. It is reported by The Japan Times with reference to the Meteorological Agency.
According to the newspaper, it occurred in the area of the city of Tainan, located to the East of Tokyo, at 15:20 at a depth of 40 km. At the same time, eyewitnesses reported that the tremors of magnitude 3 were felt in Tokyo. NHK adds that there is no threat of a tsunami. There are no data on victims either.

In early May, off the coast of the island of Kyushu in Japan, an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 happened. The epicenter was 12 km from Miyazaki. Then in the same area, there was an earthquake of magnitude 5.6.

Subsequently, in May, the Main meteorological office of Japan increased the level of danger of the eruption of Hakone volcano, which is 80 km from Tokyo. This was the first time since 2015.
