Four-time winner of the world’s most prestigious Tour de France cycling race, Briton Chris Froome will leave the Ineos team at the end of 2020, the team said in a press release.
“It has been a phenomenal decade with the Team, we have achieved so much together and I will always treasure the memories. I look forward to exciting new challenges as I move into the next phase of my career but in the meantime, my focus is on winning a fifth Tour de France with Team INEOS., ”said Froome.
“Chris’s current contract ends in December, and we decided not to renew it. We decided to announce this sooner than usual to put an end to rumors on this subject and allow the team to focus on the upcoming season, ” added team leader Dave Brailsford.
The 35-year-old Frum is the four-time winner of the Tour de France (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017), the winner of the Giro d’Italia (2018) and Vuelta (2017). Two-time bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in the individual race (2012, 2016), bronze medalist of the 2017 World Cup in the individual race.
