British tennis player Jack Draper suffered a technical defeat in the Miami Open match against Kazakhstan’s representative, Mikhail Kukushkin, BBC reports.
The 19-year-old athlete became ill in the heat. After the examination, the doctors allowed Draper to continue performing, after which he fainted. The athlete was helped, and the Briton came to his senses. He managed to leave the court on his own. Kukushkin was awarded a technical victory in the 1/64 finals of the tournament.
Thus, Draper was forced to withdraw from his debut match in the World Tour of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
Draper made his professional tennis debut in 2018. It is ranked 310th in the ATP rankings as of March 2021.
